I always insist on a Phall and was pleased when the chef at Araminta's came out to have a quick chat, first of all to make sure I knew what I was ordering :) and secondly, how I wanted it done (more powder, fresh chillies, etc).

The taste and heat were good but still not what I expect from a Phall. I've had both chicken and meat (lamb) and neither were fantastic cuts. Chicken was small pieces and my personal preference is large chunks. Lamb was a little bit chewy, but didn't spoil the meal.

Mains - above average, 7/10

Bombay Aloo - average 6/10 as the size of potatoes didn't suit a side dish and I've had better.

Saag Aloo - excellent, 8/10 potatoes cut how I would have liked the Bombay Aloo to be done. Flavours of the dish were good.

Peshwari Naan - fantastic, 9/10 for sweetness and bread.

As you can guess, I've returned a couple of times - that's not all on one visit! I need to sample some of Northampton's other restaurants, but I will be back Araminta's!
